Game play

Each player gets three cards, two facing up and one down. The aim is to get a combination of three equal cards (like 5-5-5), or three cards in a row (like 3-4-5). The 007 cards are wild cards, and can be given any value the player wishes. All players puts chips in the pot, and the round (where the players swap one card at the time) continues until one of the players declare he got a winning combination. Then the other players must either believe him, or call his bluff. If they believe him, and he indeed has a winning combination, he receives one chip. If they believe him, and he is bluffing, he receives three chips. If someone calls his bluff, they bet 1-3 chips, and if he bluffs he must pay them what they have put up. But if they call his bluff, and he is not bluffing, they loose what they have bet, and he get an additional chip from the pot.

The game ends when there are no more chips.

When the movie Dr. No was released in 1962, no one knew what kind of impact it’s main character would make on the world. The 60′s saw a secret spy craze that has never been matched, and James Bond would enter all the channels he could to reach out to his audience. This blog will focus on Bonds adventures with die and cards in the various Bond board games that has been published. From Secret Agent Game in 1964, to the latest Monopoly edition in 2008.

So far, I know about these games, who will eventually be covered on the blog:

1965 – 007
1965 – Thunderball
1965 – Underwater Battle
1965 – The James Bond Box
1966 – Message from M
1966 – James Bond Card Game

1985 – Live And Let Die
1985 – The Man With The Golden Gun
1986 – Assault! Game
1995 – James Bond Jr. The Game
1995 – Reel To Reel – 007 Movie Trivia Game
1995 – GoldenEye
1999 – Special Mission
2004 – Scene It! 007 Edition
2006 – James Bond 007 Monopoly
2008 – Ultimate James Bond Collector’s Edition Monopoly

This is only the English/American games. The list is much longer with all the “international” variations of the Bond games. In addition, there might be more games that I have yet to stumble across. An updated list of James Bond board games will be found here, at all times.
